Connect and Serve
Asbury United Methodist Church offers many opportunities for you to get involved in service to others. These are both local here in Lafayette and beyond our community. We are connected with the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and have many service opportunities through them but also engage in other ecumenical and social agencies.
Some of these are listed on this website under "Serve" but for current use , call 337-984-4211 and speak to Rev. Susan Ferguson to learn how to get involved. These opportunities are dynamic and change frequently.
Learning and Training
At Asbury, we believe that participation in a Small Group helps us to grow in our Christian faith, foster meaningful relationships and build community. Asbury is a church of Small Groups and Classes. By journeying in your faith with a Small Group or Bible Study Class, you are able to share the common experience of encouraging one another, learning together and praying for one another. Small Groups provide a safe space to explore, ask questions and grow.
Learning starts as young as our Nursery Ministry, continues in our Children's and Youth Ministry and continues as life-long learning for Adults. The primary time for on-going study is at 9:45 on Sunday Mornings for all ages. However small groups, support groups and short term studies are offered throughout the year.
